CEO

Are you an energetic and passionate individual, ready to lead a growing charity into the future?

The Space are a local, independent charity that provide mental health support to children and young people aged 4-17 who live or are being educated in the Cheddar Valley area. They offer play therapy and counselling services at various locations in the Cheddar area, including local schools, as well as out-of-term activities specifically developed for The Space in non-school venues. These activities are designed to build relationships, establish trust and confidence, and to increase the chance that children and young people will engage further and seek support.

The Space are going through an exciting period as they move into a new developmental phase, and are looking for a CEO who will take the reins on this. The CEO will hold overall responsibility for the leadership of the charity, support the charity’s trustees to fulfill their duties, and manage key stakeholder relationships.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous “on the job” success as a leader within a small or medium organisation. They will have practical or professional experience of working with vulnerable children and their families, as well as multi-agency experience, using a team approach to meet the needs of vulnerable people.
