This report builds upon the Somerset VCSE report 2016 and provides an in-depth review of the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in Somerset.

At the end of 2019, a survey was distributed to charities, community groups and social enterprises across Somerset to capture their views, experiences, challenges and aspirations.

The unanticipated arrival of Covid-19 soon after brought both challenges and opportunities to the sector, and two further surveys were conducted to help us understand its impact.

The findings of all three surveys have informed this report and its recommendations for the sector.
